Battalion Fall to East Bay FC At Home

With much anticipation, the East Bay FC Stompers traveled approximately 500 miles to visit fellow 2016 NPSL playoff contender this past weekend. This match, the fourth in a lineup of fall exhibitions, proved to be the toughest battle yet for the Battalion. Donning their white kits, NCB found themselves down two goals in the first half and were never able to recover. Despite their best efforts to change the course of the game, the final score was 2-5 in favor of the visiting Easy Bay FC Stompers. NC Battalion opened up the third match of their fall campaign back at Del Norte Stadium to face US Open Cup challenger Orange County FC on Sunday. After a tough loss in last week’s charity exhibition match to the San Diego Sockers, Battalion was looking to get back on track. The visiting OCFC, however, had other plans in mind. In the early minutes of the match, OCFC center forward Castro slipped past his markers and took a menacing shot on goalkeeper James Stroud. Stroud was up to the task and stretched a big left hand to save the shot. From [...]

Battalion and Sockers Team Up For Charity

On an unseasonably warm Sunday afternoon, the San Diego Sockers took their play outdoors for some fresh air and a match against the Battalion's fall squad. North County Battalion, who kept a clean sheet last weekend at Del Norte Stadium, fell to the Sockers 1-3 in its second match of the fall development season. Defender Rory Sutherland scored his first goal for Battalion after joining the squad earlier this year. Normally, Rory is in the backfield protecting opposing teams from getting past the defense. When Battalion has a corner kick, the 6'2" San Diego native, is right there and ready [...]
