Justin Picou, 25, is originally from San Diego, California and grew up in the small neighborhood of La Mesa. He played soccer as a child like most San Diego area kids, but, thrived as soon as he hit high school. Justin attended Helix High School where he played on the varsity soccer team for 3 out of the 4 years he attended the home of the Highlanders. He led the team in goals for his junior and senior years and was named captain in his final year at Helix. During his senior year, he lead the team to their first Grossmont South title in 17 years. In addition to excelling within his own team, Justin was named to the first team for the Grossmont South division of San Diego CIF honors.
After high school, Justin attended San Diego City College where he was named captain in his first season playing with the soccer team. In his two years at City College, he was named to the all-PCAC first team.
He left City College after obtaining his Associates degree to play for San Diego Christian College. He was named to the all-GSAC team and was the only member from his college to receive that award. As a center back, he assisted the team to achieve their all-time best record in his final year at SDCC. The team unfortunately lost in the GSAC championship game.
After college, Justin joined San Diego Boca in 2009 through 2011. He was named an NPSL all-star in 2009. For 3 seasons, Justin also played with many current NC Battalion players on the San Diego Flash squad. Justin is proud to have earned a spot on the NC Battalion squad and is looking forward to a successful season.
