Adam was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved to the U.S with his family in 1999 at the age of 7. Almost immediately after arriving, Adam started playing club soccer. He spent a short period of time with the Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks program before moving on to Nomads Soccer Club and Arsenal FC. One of his early coaches referred to Adam as “Cheezi,” as in “CheeziMeltz”, a nickname that is still heard on the pitch today. Adam’s ability to read the field and general IQ of the game earned him a spot in the Cal South Olympic Development Program where he led his team to two National ODP Championships. He spent five seasons with regional ODP resulting in five regional championships.
Adam played one year at Canyon Academy, earning Golden Boot honors, before being homeschooled in order to further pursue club soccer. He was a member of the Manchester United Youth Academy where he spent a year as Gerard Picque’s roommate. In addition to Manchester United Youth Academy, Adam has also trained with LA Galaxy U-20, FC Utrecht in Holland, and CF Dammin Spain.
At the collegiate level, Adam played Division I soccer with the University of Nevada Las Vegas as well as San Diego State University. His most recent club affiliations include Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente, Orange County Missioneros, Ventura Fusion, LA Blues, and Temecula FC. Adam looks to make his mark in his first season with NC Battalion.
