North County Battalion Announce Marine Toys for Tots Donation Drive

It may only be October, but the holiday season of giving is just around the corner. San Diego’s premier semi-professional soccer organization, North County Battalion, is in the gift-giving spirit. NC Battalion will be sponsoring a popular holiday program, Toys for Tots®, whose mission is to distribute new toys to children in need. On Sunday, November 6th, North County Battalion will be accepting toy and cash donations at their match versus Brazilian influenced Corinthians USA.

As a thank you to those that participate, NC Battalion will offer half-price admission to all guests who bring a new, unwrapped toy for the donation drive. The Toys for Tots representatives have encouraged guests to bring toys for children specifically between the ages of 6 and 12 years old.  Kickoff is scheduled for 12:20pm at Del Norte High School (16601 Nighthawk Ln, San Diego, CA 92127) and gates will open at 11:45am.

“It’s a privilege and a responsibility to give to those in need.  As an organization active in the community, we want to do our part to make sure we are always finding ways to give back.  During the holiday season, helping to bring joy to kids through the act of giving is the least we can do,” said Jason Barbato, owner of North County Battalion.

Donated toys and cash donations will be collected on the day of and distributed throughout the holiday season to local children in less fortunate circumstances. All proceeds raised in San Diego will remain local and serve the greater San Diego community.

This is the first time that North County Battalion has participated in the toy drive, and Battalion players and staff alike are humbled to be a part of the experience.

NC Battalion will also be entering each donor of a toy into a drawing for a gift basket full of exciting prizes. The winning donor does not have to be present for the drawing, and he or she will be contacted if their name is selected.
