NC Battalion To Play San Diego Sockers

North County Battalion will host a unique event this fall, a first of its kind and just one of the many matches NC Battalion has in store for their fall development season. The San Diego Sockers are coming to Del Norte High School!

On Sunday, October 9th, San Diego Sockers will travel to Del Norte High School to bring San Diego’s soccer community together for a charitable cause. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:20pm at Del Norte High School (16601 Nighthawk Ln, San Diego, CA 92127) with $2 from every ticket sold benefitting the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The San Diego Sockers have scheduled this special outdoor charity exhibition match under the leadership of new General Manager and former Sockers player, Sean Bowers. “It brings me back to when the Sockers played in the NASL before winning all those championships in the 80’s. What better way to re-start a winning tradition than to play against an emerging local team for a great cause?”

NC Battalion owner Jason Barbato mentioned “We’re excited to bring two great San Diego clubs together, both of whom have fantastic game day atmospheres, in a community building celebration of soccer. We hope to keep the working relationship strong and grow the pro soccer culture together for years to come.”

The Challenged Athletes Foundation® provides opportunities and support to people with physical challenges so the can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. They are well known for helping individuals to reach their fitness goals, even helping train Paralympic winning athletes!
